The Barnes Foundation Announces Extended Holiday Hours

Philadelphia, December 19, 2013—Due to popular demand, the Barnes Foundation will be open for extended hours this holiday season. Mark Mills, Senior Director of External Affairs, for Individual Giving and Visitor Services said, "The holidays are a great time to see the Barnes and with overwhelming demand to access the collections we have extended our visiting hours to accommodate more people. We are thrilled that the Barnes is becoming a holiday destination and we want to welcome all of our friends and remain as accessible as possible during this busy time of year."

The extended hours are:

Tuesday, 12/24: 10 am– pm
Wednesday, 12/25: Closed
Thursday, 12/26: 9 am–9 pm
Friday, 12/27: 10 am–12 am
Saturday, 12/28: 9 am–9 pm
Sunday, 12/29: 9 am–9 pm
Monday, 12/30: 10 am–9 pm
Tuesday, 12/31: 10 am–6 pm
Wednesday, 1/1: 10 am–6 pm

 

About the Barnes Foundation

The Barnes Foundation (barnesfoundation.org) was established by Albert C. Barnes in 1922 to “promote the advancement of education and the appreciation of the fine arts and horticulture.” The Barnes holds one of the finest collections of Post-Impressionist and early Modern paintings, with extensive works by Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Paul Cézanne, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Henri Rousseau, Amedeo Modigliani, Chaim Soutine and Giorgio de Chirico, as well as American masters Charles Demuth, William Glackens, Horace Pippin and Maurice Prendergast, Old Master paintings, important examples of African sculpture and Native American ceramics, jewelry and textiles, American paintings and decorative arts and antiquities from the Mediterranean region and Asia.
