Upcoming Exhibitions
Special exhibitions, including presentations of contemporary and non-Western art, will add a new dimension to visiting the Barnes Foundation, when its new building opens on the Parkway in Philadelphia. Albert Barnes collected some of the most radical art of his time, and the Barnes will honor that legacy and reflect the breadth of his collections in its exhibition program.
A 5,000-square-foot flexible space, adjacent to the entrance lobby, will provide a place to show exhibitions that respond to the Foundation’s history and collection, as well as archival material, and some never-before seen items from the Barnes collection.
Details of the opening exhibition will be announced closer to the opening of the Philadelphia campus.
