First Friday! The Wide World of Art

You don't have to travel far to experience art on a global scale. Celebrate the diversity of our collection with April's Wide World of Art-themed First Friday!

Enjoy powerful performances by Intercultural Journeys and the Academy of Vocal Arts; and hear a short talk on European and American modernism. With cocktails and after-hours access to our collection and exhibition, get ready to unwind for the art of it! 

6–9 pm

Intercultural Journeys, featuring flautist R. Carlos Nakai, percussionist Rolando Morales-Matos, and cellist Udi Bar-David

7 pm
Deputy Director of Art and Archival Collections and Gund Family Chief Curator Judith F. Dolkart discusses the role William Glackens played in promoting European and American modernism in the United States in the early 20th century. Following the talk is a book signing of WilliamGlackens, the catalogue that accompanies the exhibition on view at the Barnes November 8, 2014–February 2, 2015.

The Academy of Vocal Arts, featuring soprano Anush Avetisyan, baritone Armando Piña, and pianist Tim Ribchester
