The Many Muses of Picasso

Docent Bev Cutler will discuss the time period in Picasso’s life spanning from his formative years to the 1930s. Cutler places particular emphasis on the various women who acted as muses in the artist’s life. Picasso painted and drew these women many times throughout his work, and it is likely that they inspired certain themes and ideas that are an undercurrent throughout his oeuvre. Through careful examination of these significant females, Cutler aims to present a more complete picture of artist and his inspiration.
