Philadelphia Welcomes Yinka Shonibare

Join us for the exhibition opening party! Be the first to see Yinka Shonibare MBE: Magic Ladders and get a chance to meet this leading contemporary artist. A British artist of Nigerian descent, Shonibare has exhibited extensively in the United States and Europe. Celebrate his first major exhibition in Philadelphia since 2004 with a night of art and live musical performance.

Luigi Mazzocchi, violinist, was born in Venezuela, where he studied in the El Sistema youth orchestras. He is concertmaster of the Pennsylvania Ballet Orchestra, associate concertmaster of the Delaware Symphony, and a member of Opera Philadelphia and the Gaudeamus and Cachaça Ensembles.

The Pagode Project is a Philadelphia-based ensemble fusing Afro-Cuban and Afro-Brazilian styles and rhythms like samba, jazz, and funk. The word Pagode (pah-GAW-jee) means a celebration with food, music, and dance.

Rich Medina: From his humble beginnings as a young b-boy-turned-DJ in Lakewood, NJ to his current status as one of the most popular DJs in Philadelphia and NYC, Rich Medina takes crowds on a sonic journey through hip-hop, Afrobeat, funk, and soul.
