Monticelli, Cézanne, and van Gogh

This workshop is an introduction to the paintings of Adolphe Monticelli (1824–1886), an innovator with the plastic, physical qualities of paint and an acquaintance of Cézanne and Van Gogh. Students investigate these artists’ technical practices and possible shared influences.
