Visitor Regulations  
We hope you enjoy your visit to the Barnes Foundation. Please plan to spend a minimum of two hours to view the Gallery and include additional time if you wish to visit the gift shop and Arboretum. The Foundation suggests reservations for individuals and groups should be made at least 30 to 45 days in advance to obtain your desired date, and payment in full must be received in advance to secure a reservation. For complete reservation information you may contact the reservation office via telephone at (610)667-0290, press 5, via fax (610)667-8315, or via e-mail at reserve@barnesfoundation.org. Admission is $10.00 per person for tickets purchased for visits before July 1st 2008 and $12.00 per person thereafter. An audio tour of the Gallery is available for $7.00 per person on a first-come, first-served basis.

Policies

Please observe the following policies for the Gallery and Arboretum. They are designed to protect the collection while providing a comfortable and memorable experience during your visit. Thank you for your cooperation.

General

  • The Barnes Foundation is a smoke-free environment, including the Arboretum grounds.
  • Food and beverages are not permitted.
  • An adult must accompany children under 14 at all times.
  • Pets are not permitted on the premises.

Gallery

  • Outerwear, such as jackets, coats, and similar bulky garments, which do not fit snugly against the body, must be checked in the Coat Check Room located on the lower level.
  • Galleries are kept at a constant temperature of 70 degrees. We recommend that you wear a sweater or long-sleeved shirt in order to be comfortable in the galleries.
  • All handbags and parcels must be put in a personal locker or checked in the coat check room. The locker accepts a quarter that is returned upon retrieving your possessions.
  • Visitors must remain at least 18 inches from all objects displayed in the Gallery.
  • Painting, drawing, and photography are not permitted in the Gallery.
  • Shoes with heels smaller than two inches in diameter may not be worn in the Gallery.
  • We recommend comfortable walking shoes.

Arboretum

  • Please do not remove leaves, branches, flowers, fruit, or seeds from the grounds. Please do not sit on garden walls, where there are plants.
  • No sports equipment, easels, or tripods are permitted on the grounds.
  • Please feel free to take photographs for personal use. No commercial photography is permitted.

Parking

  • Parking on the premises is limited and is available by advanced reservation.
  • Parking fee is $10 per vehicle.
  • Free street parking is available within two to four blocks from the Foundation.
  • Please be aware the township enforces parking restrictions in the neighborhood.
We reserve the right to remove any visitor for inappropriate conduct. The Barnes Foundation does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, sex, religion or national origin in its admissions polices or in the administration of its educational programs. The Barnes Foundation is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items, and reserves the right to make such additional rules and regulations as may be deemed necessary.
