Nargaret B. Zminda Appointed Senior Vice President of
Business Strategy and Operations at the Barnes Foundation
September 24, 2007, Lower Merion, PA - Derek A. Gillman announced today the appointment of Margaret B. Zminda as
Senior Vice President of Business Strategy and Operations at the Barnes Foundation. As head of business and operations,
Ms. Zminda will oversee the development of finance, operations, security and other areas as the Barnes expands during the
coming years. She will assume her new position in December 2007. Ms Zminda is currently a Vice President and the Chief
Financial Officer at the Philadelphia Orchestra.
"I am delighted to announce Peg Zminda's appointment to this important role at the Barnes Foundation," said Mr. Gillman.
"As we move ahead in the planning and execution of the new art education center on the Parkway, Peg will be a key member
of the executive team. We are most fortunate to have someone with Peg's experience and expertise at this crucial stage of
development at the Foundation."
During her tenure at the Philadelphia Orchestra Ms. Zminda was responsible for overall financial operations. She implemented
a fixed monthly closing schedule with monthly reporting to the Orchestra's Board Finance Committee, improved financial
reporting capability, and instituted a structured budgeting process. She managed the Orchestra's Endowment Investment
portfolio of approximately $200 million, in conjunction with the Board Investment and Endowment Committee, and was
responsible for the administration of the Orchestra's two defined benefit pension plans with approximately $30 million in
assets. In addition, she served as a member of the 2004 and 2007 negotiating teams, which secured progressive three-year
contracts with the Orchestra's musicians.

this world-renowned treasure."
In her 25 years of experience as a financial professional in both publicly held and not-for-profit environments, she has
been responsible for the management of treasury, investor relations, portfolio management and financial management functions
at the corporate level, as well as cost accounting, financial reporting, and internal control systems at corporate,
divisional, and operating plant levels.
Ms. Zminda holds a Master's of Business Administration with a Concentration in Finance from the University of Chicago's
Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor's of Science in accounting from St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia.
