About the Class
Painter and scholar Bill Scott was a close friend of Berthe Morisot’s grandson and has for decades researched the artist’s life and work. Join in a unique opportunity to examine the life, artwork, friendships, and career of this important impressionist painter and subject of the Barnes’s special exhibition Berthe Morisot: Woman Impressionist, for which Scott wrote a catalogue essay. Gain personal insight from someone who knows Morisot and her work intimately.
Scott studied painting at Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and later worked informally with abstract painter Joan Mitchell. In 2017, Rider University presented a 40-year survey of his paintings, pastels, watercolors, and prints.
