About the Class

In the 19th century, independent artistic practices merged with new technologies and materials to create a dramatic new style of painting. Explore the materials and methods of the impressionist era through lectures accompanied by painting demonstrations. Be adventurous and experience the process and methods hands-on, and discover how the impressionists came to paint the way they did.

Jill Rupinski

Rupinski is a faculty member and professor at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, where she has taught for the past 25 years. Also an artist, she specializes in landscape and portraiture and has painted many commissioned portraits.
