About the Class
How might we approach the work of the postwar German artist Anselm Kiefer?
Animated by pieces in the Kiefer Rodin exhibition and anchored by an immersion in the artist’s ranging sources and subjects, this seminar will equip participants to engage Kiefer’s work in all its aesthetic, historical, philosophical, and material complexity.
Dorothea Dietrich, PhD, a professor and curator of modern art, has taught at Princeton University and held visiting appointments at Yale, MIT, Duke, and Boston University, among others. She has published and lectured and has curated exhibitions on German and American art. She was last chair and professor of the history of art and design at Pratt Institute.
