About the Class
In the last year of his life, Paul Cézanne described himself as a “pupil of Pissarro.” Over this six-week course, Camille Pissarro will emerge as not only a teacher to both Cézanne and Gauguin but also a friend and supporter of many other artists, including Monet, Seurat, Signac, Cassatt, and Van Gogh. Learn about Pissarro’s relationships with these painters and his central role in the development of modern art.
Bowen previously taught at Lebanon Valley College, where she received the Nevelyn J. Knisley Award for Inspirational Teaching. A painter, she exhibits extensively and has participated in programs at the Paris American Academy, the Salzburg International Summer Academy, and Southampton College in New York.
