About the Class

Artists and garden designers share a heightened perception of the sensual qualities inherent in nature. By looking at several exquisite gardens and studying paintings that represent gardens and other landscapes, we will learn the visual vocabulary common to both art forms. Two sessions will take place in the Barnes collection; one will be held at the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s sculpture garden, where we will discuss the intersection of art and landscape; and a fourth will take place at the famous Chanticleer Garden in Wayne, PA.
