Archives and Special Collections

Art Library

As part of our work to position the Barnes Foundation as a center of research on its collection and related subjects, we are improving access to the Foundation's archives, which include correspondence, photos, essays by Dr. Barnes and early instructors at the Foundation, Laura Barnes's collection of books, rare books, and more.

The archival collection is moving to the Parkway's Honickman Library over the coming months. Access to the library will be restricted during the transition.

The library is currently open to Barnes students, staff, docents, volunteers, and interns on Thursdays from 10 am to 5 pm. Visiting researchers and the public can access the library by appointment. Extended hours are coming this fall, after the move is finished.
