Group Visits

Docent-Led Tours

Discover why groups say a docent-led tour is “the ultimate way to experience the art at the Barnes.”

  • Standard: 1-hour tour
  • Plus: 90 minute private tour outside admission hours

Have a particular artist or theme you’re interested in? We can cater our docent-led tours to your interests, from landscape paintings to specific art movements. Request a topic that aligns with your passions when you book your tour.

Please note that tours led by third-party operators are not permitted except by special arrangement.

Self-Guided Visits

Visit for as long as you like, at your own pace, with a self-guided standard visit. Or dive deeper into the artistic styles and stories behind the works in the collection with a self-guided plus visit.

  • Self-Guided: Individuals in your group explore the thousands of masterpieces in the Barnes collection at their own pace.
  • Self-Guided Plus: Start your visit with a 30-minute introduction by a docent before exploring the Barnes collection.

Architecture Tours

Tour our award-winning LEED Platinum building, designed by Tod Williams and Billie Tsien Architects, and the grounds. Tours are 45–60 minutes and include a presentation in our auditorium. Completely immerse yourself in the Barnes by adding a docent-led tour of the collection after you see the building.

Arboretum

Tickets are available upon request to groups of 15 or more for tours of the Barnes Arboretum in Merion, PA.

Please provide at least three weeks' notice to book a group visit.

Group Dining

The brand-new Garden Pavilion is the ideal venue for groups of all sizes. This beautiful setting boasts floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook our garden courtyard. Groups will enjoy a sustainable and ethically sourced meal provided exclusively by Starr Catering Group.

For groups exploring at their own pace, dining vouchers are now available and may be redeemed at both coffee bars and the Garden Restaurant.

Don’t forget to ask about group dining offers when you call to book your group.
