About the Event
It’s time for another round of free family-friendly fun at Barnes on the Block! Presented by PNC Arts Alive, and in partnership with Mural Arts Philadelphia, our annual summer celebration returns to the Parkway on Sunday, July 13. This year’s event embraces Mural Arts’s 2025 theme, “The Place Where Art Meets Hope,” and celebrates the power of creativity to inspire and uplift communities. Join us for a full day of outdoor festivities, featuring music from local DJs, live performances, hands-on art making, local bites, and a beer garden.
The excitement continues inside the Barnes with free access to the main and second-floor collection galleries and our newest special exhibition, From Paris to Provence: French Painting at the Barnes, which offers a fresh perspective on iconic painters in the collection.

This event is free, but registration is required for gallery access. Registration for timed admission to the Barnes galleries opens at 10am on Thursday, July 10.

- Contribute to a community mural led by Mural Arts Philadelphia
- Get a personalized poem by Marshall James Kavanaugh
- Participate in a group sculpture with the Clay Studio’s Claymobile
- Make a collage in Collage Philadelphia’s “Postcards from Provence” workshop
- Experiment with cochineal paint with artists LEMUS and Ivonne Pinto García
- Learn, create, and play with Smith Memorial Playground
