About the Event
Enjoy an evening of art, live music, cocktails, and light fare at our monthly First Friday mixer.
This month, we’re proud to present a night of jazz with Philly-born saxophonist and composer Immanuel Wilkins. Wilkins’s debut Omega, which explores trauma, beauty, and spirituality, was named the number-one jazz album of 2020 by the New York Times, and his latest release, The 7th Hand, continues to push boundaries while receiving critical acclaim. Wilkins has performed with a diverse range of artists, including Solange, Gretchen Parlato, Wynton Marsalis, Gerald Clayton, Aaron Parks, and Joel Ross.
First Friday at the Barnes includes access to the collection and Mickalene Thomas: All About Love.
Live music: 6:30 – 8pm
Seating is limited. Cocktails and light fare are available for purchase.
In the mood for something heartier? The Garden Restaurant is open for dinner during First Friday. Make a reservation for Friday, November 1, between 6 and 8pm.
