About the Talk

Jalen Chang, a doctoral candidate in the history of art at the University of Pennsylvania, will lead an in-depth discussion about Paul Cézanne’s Madame Cézanne with Green Hat (Madame Cézanne au chapeau vert). The talk will be in the Main Gallery.

In Focus Gallery Talks are 30-minute discussions held in the Barnes collection galleries. Led by PhD candidates in art history, the program allows for intensive focus on individual works.


Jalen Chang

Chang's doctoral work centers around identity and political philosophy/theory in 19th- and 20th-century art. He holds an MA from Williams College and a BA from Vanderbilt University.
