About the Tour
Explore the collection virtually with a focus on Chaïm Soutine. Soutine, who emigrated to Paris in 1913, had a fascination for the grotesque, an ability to imbue his paintings with emotion, and a tremendous facility to build a painting with gestural, thick paint. Learn about Soutine’s life and legacy, consider Dr. Barnes’s role in discovering the bohemian artist early in his career, and see some of his most important work. Join us online for a one-of-a-kind experience using high-definition “deep zoom” technology, which allows for astonishingly close-up views of the canvases.
Registrants will be emailed a link for the talk on the Tuesday prior.
