“Intense, Passionate, Almost Cruel” Dr. Barnes Collects Cézanne
In anticipation of the forthcoming publication of Cézanne in the Barnes Foundation, associate curator Cindy Kang will share how Dr. Barnes became one of the foremost collectors of the artist’s work. With his ruthless treatment of other collectors and dealers and his meticulous eye for detail, Dr. Barnes was unmatched in his pursuit and vision of Cézanne’s work.
