About the Event

It’s the first Sunday of the month, which means free admission at the Barnes. Enjoy fun art activities, performances, and free access to the first-floor collection galleries, Matisse & Renoir: New Encounters at the Barnes, and Visions.

Get ready to move to the beat. This month is all about the art of percussion, with special performances by the Steve Weiss Mallet Festival. Join us as we learn about the world of storytelling through drums, community, and heart. We promise you won’t be able to stand still.

Join local artists for art activities and a scavenger hunt. Perfect for the whole family—ages 2 and up.

Storytime with Author Alyssa Reynoso-Morris

Children’s book author Alyssa Reynoso-Morris leads interactive storytime, Q&A, and crafting sessions. Make kitchen props and act out scenes from her stories. Perfect for the whole family—ages 2 and up.

The Steve Weiss Mallet Festival returns to the Barnes! Join us for interactive performances by renowned percussionists that will connect families and young learners to the world of mallet percussion. Curated by Tony Miceli, this special performance features some of the world’s best marimbists, vibraphonists, and steel pan players.
