About the Event

It’s the first Sunday of the month, which means free admission at the Barnes! See the collection and our new tapestry exhibition on entrepreneur Marie Cuttoli. Celebrate the Art of Math Challenge, make crafts and art prints, and see a multicultural puppet show.

Art Making

Explore how patterns in nature connect with art. Learn how to create multiples with printmaking techniques, make your own puzzle, and create stunning silhouettes.

Activities change throughout the day.

Competition: The Art of Math Challenge

Celebrate creativity and learning! For the 2020 Art of Math Challenge, student groups from all across the region used math strategies and artistic choices to create 3-D models of paintings in the Barnes collection. A pop-up exhibit of works created for the competition is on display today.

Storytime

Gather ‘round as Ms. Pam and Ms. Martina from Baby Wordplay share multicultural stories and fun sing-alongs that bring words on the page to life.

Puppet Theater: Hua Hua Zhang

Hua Hua Zhang creates stories from shadows and puppets. Trained in both ancient Chinese and Western traditions, she reflects the diverse influences she has experienced on her journey from east to west in her performances.
