Barnes in Bloom

We’re also celebrating Barnes in Bloom this month, by showcasing the power of flowers through floral still lifes and lush landscapes by favorite artists. These art activities and lessons highlight some of the ways that nature inspires us.

Blooming Flowers

Henri Rousseau was a self-taught artist who often included exotic plants and flowers in his paintings. Look closely at the shapes and colors in this painting and then draw your own bright bouquet. Ages 3–12. Available en Español.
