About the Event

This exciting concert showcases the work of Philadelphia-based composer George Crumb, widely considered to be one of America's most important living composers. World-renowned pianist Margaret Leng Tan presents the Philadelphia premiere of George Crumb’s first major piano work in more than 40 years, Metamorphoses, together with works by John Cage and Henry Cowell.

For its Philadelphia premiere, Metamorphoses will be performed with Monica Duncan’s video projections, complementing the music with atmospheric visual textures.

Audience members are invited to spend time in the Barnes collection galleries prior to the concert.
