About the Tour
Each month, our Spotlight Tours focus on a different artist or theme, allowing for a deeper dive into specific areas of the collection.
February is devoted to Henri Matisse! Albert Barnes collected an astounding 59 works by this radical French painter and even commissioned him to create a mural specifically for his galleries. Come learn about Matisse’s life, his relationship with Dr. Barnes, and why the artist is considered one of the cornerstones of 20th-century modernism.
After the tour, you’re invited to explore the collection galleries.
