About the Tour
Each month, our Spotlight Tours focus on a different artist or theme, allowing for a deeper dive into specific areas of the collection.
June is devoted to Modigliani and Soutine! Known for his freewheeling bohemian lifestyle, Italian painter Amedeo Modigliani developed a radical approach to painting the human figure, inspired by African sculpture. His friendship with Chaim Soutine, a struggling Lithuanian artist, began when the two were living in Paris’s Montparnasse neighborhood. Come learn about these two colorful characters and their contributions to modern art.
Before and after the tour, you’re invited to explore the collection galleries.
