About the Tour
Each month, our new Spotlight Tour focuses on a different artist or theme, allowing for a deeper dive into specific areas of the collection.
March is devoted to Modigliani and Soutine! Known for his freewheeling bohemian lifestyle, Italian painter Amedeo Modigliani developed a radical approach to painting the human figure inspired by African sculpture. His friendship with Chaim Soutine, the struggling Lithuanian artist, began when the two were living in Paris’s Montparnasse neighborhood. Come learn about these two colorful characters and their contributions to early-20th-century modernism.
After the tour, you’re invited to explore the collection galleries.
Next up: April puts the spotlight on the Americans.
