About the Event
Enjoy an evening of art, live music, cocktails, and light fare at our monthly First Friday mixer.
Tonight’s performance features Japanese-born jazz pianist Miki Yamanaka. Now based in New York, Yamanaka has gained international recognition from her albums and as a bandleader in the city’s jazz scene, with residencies at Mezzrow and Smalls Jazz Club in the West Village. She is joined by bassist Tyrone Allen II and drummer Jimmy Macbride, who also perform on her most recent album, Breathe, released in August.
This program is presented in partnership with the Philadelphia Asian American Film Foundation (PAAFF) during their annual festival, running November 5–15.
Performances at 6:30pm and 7:45pm.
First Friday at the Barnes includes access to the main collection and Noguchi to Asawa: Designing Postwar America.
Seating is limited. Cocktails and light fare are available for purchase.
