About the Tour

Storytelling has always been a central function of art. Before there was the written word, people used artwork to teach lessons and convey stories. In paintings, these narratives may be apparent in the arrangement of figures or the representation of actions. Stories can also be suggested through mood, atmosphere, or the use of formal art elements.

This exclusive online tour looks closely at works by El Greco, Van Gogh, Picasso, and Pippin that use a variety of techniques to create meaningful narratives.

Registrants will be emailed a link for the talk the day prior.
