The Barnes Shop Sales Specialist delivers consistent and superior customer service in the Barnes Shop. The Sales Specialist sells products that support the educational and revenue goals of the Barnes Shop. Our Shop Sales Specialists work with a digital point of sale system on the Shop sales floor.

Senior Conservation Coordinator

Full-time / Philadelphia

The Senior Conservation Coordinator will assist with various collections care and preventive conservation activities with a primary focus on the management of collections housekeeping, gallery light level monitoring and evaluation reports, integrated pest management, and conservation documentation records management (digital images, examination, and treatment reports) in The Museum System (TMS) collections database.

Guest and Protection Services Supervisor

The Guest and Protection Services Supervisor is an inspiring and dedicated leader committed to guiding the frontline team, who possesses the willingness and desire to develop a diverse staff. Box Office Specialist

The Box Office Specialist delivers consistent and superior customer service in ticket sales for the Barnes Foundation and ensures that visitors receive an efficient and welcoming entry through our ticketing process. Our Box Office Specialists work with a mobile point of sale system, stationed at a desk, or with mobile technology. Point of sale locations change based on time of day and events at the Foundation.

GPS Senior Specialist

Full-time / Philadelphia

The Guest and Protection Services Senior Specialist plays a key role in frontline operations by providing the team with constant visual surveillance information and access control to help provide an exceptional guest and staff experience, as well as to ensure the safety and protection of the collection and the Foundation’s buildings and grounds. The Senior Specialist provides a best-in-class experience to every person who works in and visits our institution. This includes engaging guests in conversation about the collection and the Foundation's history, answering questions, enforcing rules, looking out for suspicious behavior, and maintaining the integrity of our back of house spaces and processes.

GPS Associate

Guest and Protection Services Associates provide a best-in-class experience to every person who visits our institution. As the first line of interaction between the Barnes Foundation and all guests, the Guest and Protection Services Associate sets the tone for an exceptional guest experience, making the customer centered concept a daily reality in all interactions, decisions, and exchanges with guests. Guest and Protection Services Associates are part of a team that is truly the face of the Barnes Foundation and work under the direction of the Director of Guest and Protection Services to ensure a visit to the Barnes is informative, friendly, respectful, and efficient.

Public Programs Coordinator

Full-time / Philadelphia

The Public Programs Coordinator helps support, conceptualize, implement, and evaluate public programs with special focus on administrative support and program planning. These programs aim to increase audience engagement, feature racial, ethnic and generational diversity, and encourage engagement with the Barnes while creatively illuminating the collection, Barnes Foundation history, and special exhibitions.

Box Office and Call Center Manager

Full-time / Philadelphia

The Box Office and Call Center Manager oversees all administrative, managerial, and performance-based aspects of the Box Office and Call Center teams. The Manager is responsible for staffing the Box Office during the Barnes's open to the public hours, and the Call Center 7 days a week. The Box Office and Call Center Manager collaborates with the IT team to maintain the point-of-sale ticketing software and Call Center service software and to train frontline staff on its use. This position is responsible for record-keeping and reporting on attendance, ticket sales, call center traffic, membership sales, and other KPIs for both Box Office and Call Center.

Director of Community Engagement and Family Programs

The Director of Community Engagement and Family Programs is a visionary and strategic leader who is responsible for the development, implementation, assessment, and continual refinement of programs for underserved and diverse communities, aligned with the Barnes Foundation’s progressive artistic, educational, and social missions.

Conservation Assistant

Part-time / Temporary / Philadelphia

The Conservation Assistant assists the Conservation Department with preventive conservation tasks including collections housekeeping, completing tracking reports for preventive conservation activities, clerical tasks such as ordering supplies, assistance with compiling data for annual and grant reports, and data entry in TMS. The one-year temporary part-time position is within the Collections and Exhibitions Department and will be based on-site at the Parkway campus.


FAO Schwarz Fellowship at the Barnes Foundation
The FAO Schwarz Fellow will serve, coordinate, and deliver Barnes programming and events, and participate in initiatives to strengthen and diversify community program offerings connected to 2023–25 special exhibitions. Learn more and apply.


We offer summer internships in a variety of departments for undergraduate and graduate students. Our interns work with experts in their fields, gain valuable job experience, and engage in meaningful work.

Application deadline: February 1

Apply online. Applicants will be notified of their final status about eight weeks after the application deadline.

All internships at the Barnes Foundation are paid. Undergraduate students receive $12.75 per hour. Graduate students receive $15.75 per hour.

The summer internship program runs from the first week in June through the second week of August. Interns work 2–3 days per week and are required to work on Fridays, when all interns participate in mandatory enrichment activities.


Volunteering at the Barnes provides unique access to our collections, programs, and staff, as well as opportunities to work with other art and horticulture enthusiasts.
