About the Event

Help us celebrate the 10th annual Art of Math challenge! Each year, students from the Greater Philadelphia region and beyond design and build 3D scale models of paintings from our collection. Students work in teams and use math strategies to complete the STEAM-based (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) challenge and gather at the Barnes to compete for prizes. Get inspired by the creative student-made works on display in the Annenberg Court and enjoy free access to our galleries and performances by DJ Long Legs from MIC’d Up (Music Industry Classrooms).

Includes access to the collection and the Freedom Dreams exhibition.

Registration opens Thursday, April 30, at 10am.

Join us for a performance by DJ Long Legs, a sophomore at Franklin Learning Center known for her energy and passion for music. She honed her stage presence and signature sound at International Kidz DJ Cafe and has performed at the Roots Picnic, Four Seasons Hotel, and JG SkyHigh. Inspired by her mother, DJ Aye West, she is dedicated to motivating other young creatives and making her mark in the music industry. Stay for a Q&A with DJ Long Legs following her first set.

MIC’d Up (Music Industry Classrooms) is the School District of Philadelphia’s music mentorship program. Students meet with music industry professionals to discuss their passions for art, music, and technology and learn about the business side of music. They also get a chance to perform at venues across the city.
