Visual Resources Manager ($65,000–$70,000)

The Visual Resources Manager is responsible for the management of the digital assets and rights related to the art collections and temporary exhibitions of the Barnes Foundation and Calder Gardens. Working with multiple stakeholders across the organization and beyond, the Visual Resources Manager manages many relationships and negotiates workable agreements and rates on behalf of the foundation with ARS and other organizations.

On-Call Audio-Visual Specialist ($23.10/hr)

The On-Call Audio-Visual Specialist handles the setup, breakdown, and operation of Barnes AV equipment, including audio, video, lighting, or staging equipment. The specialist oversees safe and efficient use of this equipment to support live and virtual art lectures, musical performances, and client events, including corporate retreats and weddings. They ensure that complete customer satisfaction is achieved and are accountable for all inventory before, during, and after each event.

The Museum Facilities Specialist is responsible under the general supervision of the Facilities Manager for providing a first-class experience to the foundation’s visitors, guests, and employees by maintaining the foundation’s building and grounds with continual care and maintenance.

Guest and Protection Services Senior Specialist, Day Shift ($19.48/hr)

Full-time (weekends required) / Philadelphia

The Guest and Protection Services Senior Specialist plays a key role in frontline operations by providing the team with constant visual surveillance information and access control to help provide an exceptional guest and staff experience, as well as to ensure the safety and protection of the art collection and the foundation’s buildings and grounds. The Senior Specialist provides a best-in-class experience to every person who works in and visits our institution.

Box Office and Call Center Specialist ($18.72/hr)

Part-time (weekends required) / Philadelphia

The Box Office and Call Center Specialist is responsible for serving as the first point of contact with guests to the Barnes Foundation and for consistently providing superior customer service to guests: selling tickets, tours, memberships, classes, and other Barnes programs. The Specialist ensures an efficient and welcoming entry through our ticketing process and a best-in-class experience to every person who interacts with our institution.

Barnes Shop Sales Specialist ($18.72/hr)

Part-time / Philadelphia

The Barnes Shop Sales Specialist is responsible for delivering consistent and superior customer service and selling products that support the educational and revenue goals of the Barnes Shop.

Venue Sales Manager ($50,000–$55,000)

Full-time / Philadelphia

The Venue Sales Manager is responsible for all aspects of selling and executing events across the Barnes’s event spaces. In addition to excellent client customer service, the Manager must maintain productive and collegial working relationships across the institution to support event execution. The Manager is responsible for assisting in achieving budgeted net revenue goals.

Pre-K–12 Program Specialist—5th Grade ($48,000–$50,000)

Full-time / Philadelphia

The Pre-K–12 Program Specialist develops engaging programs for pre-K–12 students to be delivered in the Barnes galleries and in the classrooms of participating schools. The Specialist is part of the School Programs team, which provides in-person and online programming for students and teachers. During the school year, this position facilitates tours in the Barnes galleries for students. The Specialist also creates and teaches programs delivered to 5th grade classes at grant-funded school partners in Philadelphia. These lessons integrate art with other content areas, such as science and math. The Specialist develops and delivers professional development workshops for teachers and contributes to School Programs projects.

During the summer, the Specialist contributes to community-based out-of-school learning for students and families led by the Barnes’s Community Engagement and Family Programs team. The Specialist also envisions, scripts, and films asynchronous virtual learning videos for pre-K–12 students on the Barnes’s Visual Experience Platform.

Internships

We offer summer internships in a variety of departments for undergraduate and graduate students as well as recent high school and college graduates. Our interns work with experts in their fields, gain valuable job experience, and engage in meaningful work. Learn more about each department.

All internships at the Barnes are paid. Undergraduate students receive $12.75 per hour. Graduate students receive $15.75 per hour.

The summer internship program runs from the first week in June through the second week of August. Interns work 2–3 days per week and are required to work on Fridays, when all interns participate in mandatory enrichment activities.

Volunteering

Volunteering at the Barnes provides unique access to our collections, programs, and staff, as well as opportunities to work with other art and horticulture enthusiasts. We are not accepting volunteer applications at this time.
