About the Event

Enjoy an evening of art, live music, cocktails, and light fare at our monthly First Friday mixer.

This month, we’re featuring special performances by V. Shayne Frederick. Hailed as “one of the region’s greatest jazz singers” by The Philadelphia Inquirer, the vocalist and pianist has been captivating audiences for nearly 20 years. Frederick has appeared on TEDx and WXPN’s the Key and performed at countless concert halls, museums, and universities across the nation. Join us as he gathers a first-class quintet to celebrate Philadelphia jazz legend John Coltrane on the 100th anniversary of his birth.

Performances at 6:30pm and 7:45pm

First Friday at the Barnes includes access to the main collection, Noguchi to Asawa: Designing Postwar America, and Just Us.

Seating is limited. Cocktails and light fare are available for purchase.

In the mood for something heartier? The Garden Restaurant is open for dinner during First Friday. Make a reservation between 6 and 8pm.

Support is generously provided by Philadelphia City Fund’s 2026 Milestone Grant Fund, supported by PECO.
