Annual Giving Programs Coordinator
The Annual Giving Programs Coordinator supports the Circles and Corporate Council Programs in acquiring, renewing, upgrading, and stewarding members at all levels. This position is integral to providing the highest level of customer service to our lead individual and corporate members, and facilitates the monthly and quarterly renewals cycles for the Circles and Corporate Council programs, respectively. The Coordinator is also responsible for producing and executing strong communications with members, maintaining data and reporting regarding these membership programs, and researching current members and prospects. This position will help organize and execute a robust calendar of related events and member programs and work closely with volunteer leadership committees. The Coordinator will support the Director of Individual Giving and Corporate Programs Manager.
Art Director
The Art Director is an accomplished designer with vision, initiative, and autonomy who can act as creative partner, internal critic, and sounding board. The Art Director executes the Barnes’s brand strategy and ensures consistency across media by managing the design of all print and online advertising, marketing, education, social media, and membership communications. The Art Director oversees the creation and implementation of branding for all special exhibitions. The Art Director also works with the Director of Publications, the Production Manager, and designers to ensure that books and catalogues meet the highest standards and align with exhibition branding strategies.
Advancement Coordinator
The Advancement Coordinator provides administrative and project management support to the Senior Vice President & Deputy Director for Advancement, and members of the Advancement team as assigned.
Salesforce Administrator
The Salesforce Administrator is responsible for the administration of the Barnes’s Salesforce, Sales Cloud, and marketing solutions, making sure that the Barnes is maximizing system potential in all areas. The Administrator manages user accounts, provides training, and creates and updates documentation for standard operating procedures in various departments. The Administrator maintains an understanding of business needs and makes sure those needs are met in cooperation with other staff and in accordance with company standards.
Assistant Conservator of Paintings
The Assistant Conservator of Paintings will carry out examination, documentation, and technical research that will focus upon 23 paintings by Pablo Picasso in the Barnes collection. They will coordinate and collaborate with the painting conservation, curatorial, and research staff, and contract conservation scientists for the project. The Assistant Conservator of Paintings will work as a team member in the Conservation department and will assist with additional preventive conservation and special exhibition assignments. Treatment of selected paintings from the department priority list will be undertaken. The Assistant Conservator of Paintings is a temporary, full-time, grant-funded position with a tenure through September 2024.
Conservation Technician (18 hr/wk, $20.20/hr)
The Conservation Technician will work closely with the conservation and collections management teams and assist with various collections care and conservation treatment projects.
K–12 Digital Learning Specialist
The K–12 Digital Learning Specialist conceptualizes and designs engaging virtual art education lessons for K–12 students, with the goal of helping teachers around the globe integrate art into their classrooms across various content areas. This highly creative position will focus primarily on developing “Art Packs,” or asynchronous digital lessons related to the Barnes collection and aligned with curricular goals that teachers can access according to their needs/schedules. All virtual content will be delivered using the Barnes’s new state-of-the-art digital learning platform.
Early Childhood Programs Specialist
Under the shared supervision of the Director of Pre-K–12 and Educator Programs and Director of Community Engagement and Family Programs, the Early Childhood Programs Specialist leads the development and implementation of early childhood programs. The Specialist designs curricula and programming for pre-K through first grade, with the goals of preparing young learners for school-readiness and supporting caregivers to participate in early childhood learning. The Specialist develops curriculum for online and in-person learning inside the Barnes art galleries and in community settings. The Specialist maintains partnerships with early childhood and public, charter, and private schools in Philadelphia and Camden, NJ, facilitating professional development and family events. The Specialist is a resource to Barnes colleagues, coaching teaching artists on early learning standards and contributing to summer camp program activities for students.
Pre-K–12 Programs Specialist
The Pre-K–12 Programs Specialist provides Barnes collections and special exhibitions programs for pre-K–12 students and teachers in-person and online. The School Programs team creates interactive lessons grounded in the Barnes’s objective method and incorporates inquiry-based learning, Universal Design for Learning, and trauma-aware and anti-racist teaching strategies. The Pre-K–12 Program Specialist creates programming for pre-K–12 students, with special attention to grant-funded school partners in Philadelphia and/or Camden, NJ.
IT Student Help Desk Technician
The Student Help Desk Technician will serve as the primary liaison between the IT department and students enrolled in virtual education classes at the Barnes. The individual should have a mix of technical and customer service skills.
Internships
We offer summer internships in a variety of departments for undergraduate and graduate students. Our interns work with experts in their fields, gain valuable job experience, and engage in meaningful work.

Apply online. Applicants will be notified of their final status about eight weeks after the application deadline.
All internships at the Barnes are paid. Undergraduate students receive $12.75 per hour. Graduate students receive $15.75 per hour.
The summer internship program runs from the first week in June through the second week of August. Interns work 2–3 days per week and are required to work on Fridays, when all interns participate in mandatory enrichment activities.
Volunteering
Volunteering at the Barnes provides unique access to our collections, programs, and staff, as well as opportunities to work with other art and horticulture enthusiasts.
