Guest and Protection Services Specialist ($18.35/hr)

The Guest and Protection Services Specialist serves as both a console operator and gallery monitor, playing a key role in frontline staff operations, providing the team with constant visual surveillance information to help provide an exceptional guest experience, and ensuring the safety and protection of the collection, buildings, and grounds. Guest and Protection Services Specialists are part of a team that are truly the face of the Barnes Foundation and work under the Director of Guest and Protection Services to ensure a visit to the Barnes is informative, friendly, respectful, and safe.

Guest and Protection Services Associate ($17.60/hr)

Guest and Protection Services Associates provide a best-in-class experience to every person who visits our institution. As the first line of interaction between the Barnes Foundation and all guests, the Guest and Protection Services (GPS) Associate sets the tone for an exceptional guest experience, making the “customer centered” concept a daily reality in all interactions, decisions, and exchanges with guests. GPS Associates make the “customer centered” concept a daily reality in all interactions, decisions, and exchanges with guests. GPS Associates are part of a team that is truly the face of the Barnes Foundation and work under the direction of the Director of Guest and Protection Services to ensure a visit to the Barnes is informative, friendly, respectful, and efficient. This includes answering questions, enforcing rules, looking out for suspicious behavior, providing assistance, and engaging guests with warm and welcoming conversations about the foundation and its collections.

Part-Time Box Office & Call Center Specialist ($17.50/hr, 3 days/wk)

Part-time (weekends required) / Philadelphia

As the first point of contact with guests to the Barnes Foundation, the Box Office & Call Center Specialist is responsible for consistently providing superior customer service to guests: selling tickets, tours, memberships, classes, and other Barnes programs. The Specialist ensures an efficient and welcoming entry through our ticketing process and a best-in-class experience to every person who interacts with our institution. The Specialist makes the “customer centered” concept a daily reality in all interactions, decisions, and exchanges with guests. The Specialist works both on the phone and in-person, stationed in a call center, at the box office, member desk, or other locations depending on the needs of the day. Specialists use a digital point-of-sale system to process financial transactions and are responsible for accuracy.

Guest and Protection Services Senior Specialist ($18.50/hr)

Full-time / Philadelphia

The Guest and Protection Services Senior Specialist plays a key role in frontline staff operations, providing the team with constant visual surveillance information to help provide an exceptional guest experience, as well as to ensure the safety and protection of the collection, buildings, and grounds. Guest and Protection Services Specialists are part of a team that are truly the face of the Barnes Foundation and work under the direction of the Director of Guest and Protection Services to ensure a visit to the Barnes is informative, friendly, respectful, and safe.

Brand Engagement Manager ($59,000–62,000)

Full-time / Philadelphia (Hybrid)

Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Brand Engagement, the Brand Engagement Manager serves several key roles in the Barnes’s growing marketing function: business strategy, marketing and communications, and data analysis and reporting. The Brand Engagement Manager will balance revenue goals against mission-driven brand storytelling opportunities to create and scale compelling stories across a variety of social media platforms, growing the Barnes’s brand reputation and relevance in art and education while communicating its programming to diverse audiences. The manager will have a thorough understanding of brand content and distribution strategies for social media and video publishing sites, including best practices and extensive experience with each distribution channel's features.

Staff Accountant ($59,000–62,000)

Full-time / Philadelphia (Hybrid)

The Staff Accountant is responsible for the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as well as assigned tasks for the month-end and year-end close.

Internships

We offer summer internships in a variety of departments for undergraduate and graduate students as well as recent high school and college graduates. Our interns work with experts in their fields, gain valuable job experience, and engage in meaningful work. Learn more about each department.

Apply online. Applicants will be notified of their final status about eight weeks after the application deadline.

All internships at the Barnes are paid. Undergraduate students receive $12.75 per hour. Graduate students receive $15.75 per hour.

The summer internship program runs from the first week in June through the second week of August. Interns work 2–3 days per week and are required to work on Fridays, when all interns participate in mandatory enrichment activities.
