About the Tour

Reexamine the work of self-taught artist Henri Rousseau in this landmark exhibition that reunites important paintings for the first time in over 100 years. This tour will explore how Rousseau painted with viewers in mind, changing his compositions and subjects to suit their preferences. Join us to uncover Rousseau’s secrets and learn about the influence of art dealer Paul Guillaume, who sold many Rousseau paintings to Dr. Albert Barnes while keeping others for his own collection.

This tour is a private one-hour experience for you and up to nine guests.

Tours are available Thursdays at 10am, 11am, and 3pm, and Friday–Monday at 10am, 11am, and 2pm. Reservations are required. Private tours must be requested at least four days in advance. To learn more or to reserve a tour, call 215.278.7200.

Includes access to the collection before and after the tour.
