The Contemporaries

The Contemporaries are a vital part of the Barnes Foundation’s and Calder Gardens' futures: a dynamic group of young patrons and art enthusiasts, ages 21–39, who enjoy distinct programs and social events. The Contemporaries’ generous annual membership contributions provide critical, unrestricted support.
Barnes Contemporaries ($500/year) (increasing to $600 on January 1, 2026, with updated benefits)
For an annual gift of $500 (all but $230 is tax-deductible), Barnes Contemporaries members enjoy the following privileges for two adults:
- Unlimited free admission to the Barnes and Calder Gardens and complimentary admission for friends and family
- Free tickets to Young Professionals Nights at the Barnes and exclusive VIP receptions
- Invitations to select Circles lectures and receptions featuring renowned scholars, artists, and curators
- A dedicated phone line to arrange tours and other VIP services
- 10% discount at the Barnes Shop and Calder Gardens Shop
Circle Contemporaries ($1,000/year) (changing to The Contemporaries Council on January 1, 2026, with updated benefits)
For an annual gift of $1,000 (all but $353 is tax-deductible), Circle Contemporaries members enjoy all of the privileges of the Barnes Contemporaries membership, plus:
- An invitation to the annual Circles Soirée
- Recognition in the Annual Report
- 20% discount at the Barnes Shop and Calder Gardens Shop
