About the Exhibition

Where I’m From is an exhibition of original artwork created by justice-impacted artists from Mural Arts Philadelphia’s Rec Crew and artists at State Correctional Institute Phoenix, southeast Pennsylvania’s maximum-security prison for men. The works reflect on the artists’ personal journeys, including the family and friends who have been important along the way and their hopes of where they might go in the future.

The Rec Crew is made up of graduates from Mural Arts’ restorative justice programs who work on mural installations at recreation centers in Philadelphia, revitalizing community spaces around the city.

On view in the second-floor classroom of the Collection Gallery from July 5 to August 25.
