About the Event
Enjoy an evening of art, live music, cocktails, and light fare at our monthly First Friday mixer.
This month, we welcome interdisciplinary artists Sky Hopinka, Raven Chacon, and Andrew Yong Hoon Lee for an evening of improvised guitar. Their careers span photography, composition, experimental cinema, installation, and performance, and each approaches sound as a material in their practice. Tonight, they will improvise with atmospheric and ambient guitar, shaping an experimental performance in which listening becomes a way of moving between sound, memory, and place. Staged in the Annenberg Court alongside Hopinka's installation Red Metal Dust, the evening unfolds in real time as the artists respond to one another and to the space around them.
Performance from 6:30 to 8pm.
First Friday is a social event with limited seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. Standing may be required during performances.
Tickets include access to the Barnes collection and Noguchi to Asawa: Designing Postwar America.
Cocktails and light fare are available for purchase. In the mood for something heartier? The Garden Restaurant is open for dinner during First Friday. Make a reservation between 6 and 8pm.
