About the Event
Have you ever wondered why Dr. Albert Barnes positioned Cézanne’s The Card Players next to a Corot portrait and a pastry cutter? Why your favorite Matisse is hanging so high in a corner? Or what those upside-down hinges are doing on the walls?
Members are invited to attend an online docent-led tour to go deeper into how and why Dr. Barnes created his “wall-pictures” or “ensembles.” On this tour, you’ll learn how Dr. Barnes designed the galleries as classrooms, gain insight into the aesthetic links that unite works across the collection, and discover new connections for yourself.
Registrants will be emailed a link for the tour the day prior.
