About the Exhibition
The Barnes teamed up with Drexel University's Westphal College of Media Arts & Design to present the Philadelphia Museum of Dance, a free daylong exhibition of live dance with French choreographer Boris Charmatz.
The exhibition offered opportunities to watch and participate. The Parkway building was transformed inside and out with performances in nearly every corner. The event featured dancers from Philadelphia and New York and closed with an urban, outdoor production of danse de nuit by Charmatz’s own company.
Exhibition Organization
The exhibition was co-curated by Simon Dove, Manfred Fischbeck, Miriam Giguere, and Lois Welk of Westphal College of Media Arts & Design with Boris Charmatz and Martina Hochmuth of Musée de la danse. Film and video program curated by Terry Fox. In partnership with the Barnes Foundation with thanks to Thom Collins and Kathleen Greene.
