2024 Art of Math Challenge

For the 2024 Art of Math Challenge, students from the Philadelphia area used math strategies to create 3D scale models of paintings from the Barnes collection: Woman Walking in an Exotic Forest by Henri Rousseau, Entrance of the Port of Honfleur by Georges Seurat, and Woman on Bridge - Woman at Window by Qiu Ying. Working in groups, students designed and built their model and wrote a description of their mathematical process. The competition culminated with a display of the models at our STEAM-themed PECO Free First Sunday Family Day on March 3, 2024.

Enjoy this year’s submissions and winners!
