About the Talk
The Barnes is proud to host the Colored Girls Museum for an engaging conversation with multidisciplinary artist vanessa german. German will be joined by museum founder Vashti Dubois and moderator Jet Toomer, followed by an audience Q&A.
The Colored Girls Museum, housed in a 140-year-old, three-story Victorian twin in Philadelphia’s historic Germantown neighborhood, is the only museum in the United States dedicated to honoring the lives of ordinary colored girls. Its current exhibition, WhoAllGonBeThere, features german’s installation The House, The Oracle, and The Table.
This program includes access to the Barnes collection and Noguchi to Asawa: Designing Postwar America.
