About the Event
It’s the first Sunday of the month, which means free admission at the Barnes. Enjoy fun art activities, exciting performances, and free access to the collection, Noguchi to Asawa: Designing Postwar America, and Just Us, our annual restorative justice exhibition.
This month, we’re partnering with IPD Philly to recognize Indigenous Peoples’ Day (October 12). In celebration of Indigenous cultures, we are pleased to feature interactive performances by Native Nations Dance Theater. Through music, dance, and history, the group educates visitors on the traditions of the living and thriving Native American community.
Registration opens Thursday, October 1, at 10am.

Performances by Native Nations Dance Theater
Native Nations Dance Theater is Philadelphia’s only Indigenous professional touring dance company, representing various nations across America. Founded and directed by Vaughnda Hilton, the nonprofit educates audiences about Native American art and artists in the Philadelphia community. The group’s interactive programs include dance workshops, craft workshops, singing, historical lectures, and powwows.
