About the Class

Picasso’s contribution to the history of art was immeasurable. More than a century after cubism, we are still unpacking his extraordinary career. In this daylong course, we will immerse ourselves in Picasso’s work, tracing key moments in his oeuvre and highlighting his impact on his contemporaries. From the Salon cubists to Mondrian, Pollock, and so many others, we’ll explore the many complex facets of Picasso’s inestimable nexus.

Matthew Palczynski

Palczynski is an art history lecturer, consultant, curator, and educator for academic, corporate, and nonprofit individuals and institutions. He regularly leads museum sessions on innovation at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, teaches art history courses at Tyler School of Art and the Barnes, and presents lectures worldwide for Road Scholar.
