About the Class
In this three-session course, learn how to create a seasonal centerpiece, floral jewelry, and hand-tied bouquets. In the first session, craft seasonal blooms and foliage into a flowing natural design using non-foam mechanics. Plus, discuss the value of using locally grown materials and learn how to find local growers.* Session 2 focuses on small wearable floral accents like boutonnieres, wrist cuffs, necklaces, and hair combs. Discuss floral trends and choose one or two pieces to create on your own. In Session 3, weave floral elements into a European-style hand-tied bouquet that works as an exquisite bridal bouquet or simply as a lovely hostess gift.
*For the first session, bring a low bowl (approximately 4" high and 6" across) to serve as the container for your centerpiece. If you wish, you can purchase a bowl at the class for an additional $10. For all three sessions, bring a shallow box to carry your creations home safely.
Held at the Barnes Arboretum, 300 N. Latch’s Lane, Merion, Pennsylvania, 19066.
