About the Class

How do artists create? What decisions do they make as they engage in the artistic process, and why? How do these decisions affect the viewer’s experience? Through lively discussions in the collection galleries and a visit to the Barnes Conservation Lab, this class helps address these questions.

Instructor

Christine Stoughton

Stoughton is a psychologist, art educator, sculptor, and printmaker. An instructor for the Barnes-de Mazia Education Program, she has also taught with the Violette de Mazia Foundation at Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and West Chester University.
