About the Class

Expand your planting palette with out-of-the-ordinary annuals and tender perennials, the heat-loving highlights of the garden that grow into prominence in a single summer. See how these exceptional plants can be integrated into mixed borders, rock gardens, shade gardens, and containers. Learn the secrets of their propagation, overwintering, and the sources of plants and seeds, tubers, and more.

The plants covered will differ from those taught in the Herbaceous Plants class in our Horticulture Certificate program, so former students (and dedicated plant nerds) are encouraged to register.

Held at the Barnes Arboretum, 300 N. Latch’s Lane, Merion, Pennsylvania, 19066.
